Statement of the MFA on the Signing of the Libyan Political Agreement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic welcomes the signing of the Libyan Political Agreement, which took place on December 17, 2015 in Skhirat, Morocco. We praise the courage of all the political, civil society or municipal representatives who joined the Agreement, and call on all the others not to lose this unique opportunity, to put aside all the disputes and join and actively support the commencing process of political transition.

We hope that signing of the Agreement and the consequent establishment of the Government of the National Accord constitute a beginning of a new chapter in the Libyan post-revolutionary era that will result in the national reconciliation, will end the years' long suffering and will bring the Libyan people peace and prosperity they deserve.
