MFA Statement on Knesset’s Regulation Bill
07.02.2017 / 14:16 | Aktualizováno: 04.01.2018 / 11:38
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs follows with the great concern passing of the Regulation Bill by Knesset and the recent approval of more than 6000 housing units in Israeli settlements in West Bank and East Jerusalem and calls on both sides to refrain from any unilateral steps that could lead to renewed escalations and prejudge the outcome of direct bilateral negotiations.
Expanding settlements, passing of the Regulation Bill and ongoing acts of violence as well as incitement to it constitute serious impediment to peace negotiations and jeopardize lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on each side to independently demonstrate, through policies and actions, their genuine commitment to the two-state solution and to take concrete steps to advance it on the ground.
