The Inauguration of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Zambia

 

On April 26, 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Zambia. On the same day, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Zambia Radek Rubeš handed over the credentials to the Zambian President Edgar Lungu. The inauguration was attended by the representatives of the Zambian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the diplomatic corps in Zambia, Czech compatriots and also Czech Minister of Agriculture Marian Jurečka.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek made a decision to open the Embassy in Lusaka last December. The Czech Republic and Zambia share a mutual interest to strengthen relations between the two countries in the political, economic and development area. Zambia was designated as one of the priority countries of the Czech Republic's development cooperation program. During his visit, Minister Jurečka opened a Czech stand at the largest Zambian agricultural fair AGRItech EXPO in Chisamba.
