Statement on the so-called "People's Republics"

The Czech Republic considers the so-called people's republics and their statements illegitimate. The Czech Republic does not recognize these self-proclaimed “republics” and did not establish diplomatic nor consular relations. We fully respect territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Russian annexation of Crimea and the continuing presence of several thousand members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in eastern Ukraine we find as a severe violation of international law and a serious threat to peace and stability in Europe.
