MFA Statement on the DPRK’s Ballistic Missile Launch on August 29, 2017

Today’s test of a ballistic missile by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) violates again multiple United Nations Security Council Resolutions and represent this time also a threat to the territory of Japan and to the security of its inhabitants.

The Czech Republic repeatedly urges the DPRK to comply with its international obligations: to halt all launches using ballistic missile technology and abandon its nuclear program and all other weapons of mass destruction programmes as it is required by the UN Security Council. The ballistic missile tests by the DPRK seriously undermine security in the world, further increase regional tensions and represent a threat to the health and lives of civilian population.

The Czech Republic urges the DPRK to re-engage in a meaningful and constructive dialogue with the international community.
