Statement on the Normalisation of Relations between Ethiopia and Eritrea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic welcomes the signature of the Joint Declaration by Ethiopia and Eritrea, which paves the way for normalisation of relations between the two countries.

It represents an important step for ensuring stability in the Horn of Africa region, which can serve as a model for other African countries to resolve their own conflicts. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic hopes that Ethiopia and Eritrea will continue in their effort and stands ready to support it.
