Minister of Foreign Affairs received the Ambassador of Sweden

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomáš Petříček received H. E. Mrs Victoria Li, Ambassador of Sweden. The meeting took place on July 10, 2020 on the occasion of termination of the Ambassador´s diplomatic mission in the Czech Republic. Both representatives appreciated the very good quality of Czech-Swedish relations which need to be further developped, including their economic dimension.

Minister Tomáš Petříček described the bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Sweden as excellent and appreciated highly the Ambassador´s personal contribution to developing and deepening bilateral relations in the political, economic and cultural field. Czech-Swedish economic relations have been successfully developing. Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the results of bilateral trade which is a driving force of Czech-Swedish cooperation and is steadily growing. The interlocutors also appreciated that both countries strengthened their cooperaton in the defense sector. The turnover in trade between both countries reached  107,3 billion CZK in 2019.

The Czech Republic, Sweden and France will closely cooperate within the EU Presidency Trio together in 2021 – 2022. During the Ambassador´s tenure in Prague, the government offices in the Czech Republic and Sweden established a system of regular videoconferences on European issues.
