Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic on the adoption of the so-called Programme on Creation of Common Socio-Economic Space between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia

The Czech Republic rejects the "Programme on Creation of Common Socio-Economic Space between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia" and considers it a serious violation of international law as well as international legal obligations of the Russian Federation.

We call on Russia to cease its steps hampering the efforts to stabilize the security situation in the region and implement its obligations under the EU-mediated 12 August 2008 Ceasefire Agreement. The Czech Republic expresses its full and firm support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
