MFA hosts the 29th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jakub Kulhánek, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Ann Linde and the Secretary General of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Helga Maria Schmid will open on 9 September 2021 the 29th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum, which will be held at the Czernin Palace, the seat of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 9-10 September 2021.

During the two-day event, senior government officials and experts from academia, NGOs, international organisations and the private sector from 57 OSCE participating States will discuss the theme "Promoting comprehensive security, stability and sustainable development in the OSCE region through women's economic empowerment”.

Speakers at the conference for the Czech Republic will will include Ms. Lenka Simerská from the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the main coordinator of the 22% Towards Equality project, which aims to contribute to the elimination of unjustified gender pay gaps in the Czech Republic by promoting transparency in remuneration.

This year, the Forum is being held in a hybrid form, i.e. partly with the physical participation of delegates, partly virtually. A live webcast of the opening session can be watched on Thursday, 9 September at 9:30 a.m. at https://www.osce.org/live.
