Ambassador J. Baloun met with director general for international affairs of the AOP

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Afghanistan Jiri Baloun received Attal Shams, esteemed director for international affairs from the Administrative Office of the President, with his colleagues on 24 August 2020 at the Embassy.

The newly appointed director Shams introduced himself to Ambassador Baloun and praised the long term Czech support of Afghanistan in women's empowerment and agriculture. Director Shams asked the Czech side to evaluate opportunities for professional courses for female staff of the Afghan civil service, which would be beneficial for their professional growth.

Ambassador Baloun thanked director Shams and promised to look for capacity building courses opportunities suitable for Afghan female civil servants. He reminded that the key priority is to achieve a peaceful and free political environment in Afghanistan at which, in the current time of peacemakers, women play an irreplaceable role. Last but not least, Ambassador Baloun emphasized the importance of freedom based on awareness of individual responsibility, in particular duties to the family and homeland.
