Meeting with the NSA H. Mohib

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Afghanistan, Jiri Baloun, held talks with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Hamdullah Mohib, on mutual cooperation, the development of peace negotiations and security, on 9 May 2021.

During the meeting, Ambassador Baloun voiced an assumption about security conditions in Afghanistan enabling further preservation of diplomatic presence, thus continuation of support for Afghanistan's peaceful development, to which Czechia contributes through trust funds operated by international organizations focused on state reconstruction (ARTF - World Bank), support for the Afghan National Army (ANATF - NATO) and the Afghan National Police (LOTFA - UN), as well as through the program of humanitarian and small scale projects within the Czech Development Cooperation.

Ambassador Baloun also mentioned economic cooperation in the field of air traffic control and cyber security. NSA Mohib assured Ambassador Baloun that the security of diplomatic missions is one of the Afghan Government's priorities. Last but not least, he also briefed Ambassador Baloun on the latest developments in the peace talks and the preparations of the Afghan Government's negotiating team.
