Three fallen soldiers of the Army of the Czech Republic in Afghanistan

Martin Marcin, Patrik Štěpánek a Kamil Beneš, Czech soldiers serving in Afghanistan were killed in a line of duty on August 5, 2018. The Czech Republic is honoring the memory of the heroes.

Three Czech soldiers, Staff Sergeant Martin Marcin (1982), Corporal Kamil Beneš (1990) and Corporal Patrik Štěpánek, were killed in a line of duty in the early hours of August 2018, 2018, in a Province of Parwan, Afghanistan. They were fatally wounded during their patrolling duty. The Czech Guard Company, part of the Czech Task Force within the NATO Resolute Support Mission is contributing to the Bagram Air Field protection and defence. One US soldier and two ANA soldiers were also wounded in the suicide attack. Taliban claimed the responsability on their webside. 

"The news about the tragic deaths has stricken me deeply" said Jan Hamáček, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. "The Czech Republic has suffered a terrible loss. My thoughts remain with family and friends of our fallen soldiers".

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kabul in mourning the death of the heroes. It conveys the expression of sincere condolence to the grieving families.
