The Transition Promotion Program is a democracy assistance financial instrument of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic established in 2005. This program is aimed at supporting  democracy and human rights, using the Czech Republic’s recent experience with the social transition and democratization of the country. Projects within this program are implemented in cooperation with Czech civil society organizations and their local partners, underpinning the importance of civil society in democratization processes.

The program is administrated by the Human Rights & Transition Policy Department that functions as an implementing agency. For this call only Ukrainian NGOs are eligible.

Deadline for submission of project proposals is 5th May 2016, 1:00 PM.

Priority Areas, Budget and Duration

Three types of activities in the priority areas described below will be supported. For each of the priority areas at least one of the project proposals will be awarded the grant. The maximum budget for a scheme with the duration of up to 5 months ( starting in June and due to the end of the fiscal year finishing on 31st October 2016) is 70.000 EUR. Projects in general should not be smaller than 20.000 EUR.

The priority areas are following:

1) Promoting Critical Thinking and Media Literacy in the Ukrainian System of Education

2) Improving Standards and Ethics in Investigative Journalism in Ukraine

3) Advocacy, Advising and Implementation of Anti-corruption and General Prosecutors Office Reform

The standard application and budget forms, found on this website should be submitted electronically to the kyiv@embassy.mzv.cz address and in parallel to alzbeta_chmelarova@mzv.cz . These standard application forms should be completely filled out, otherwise the proposal will not be taken into consideration. Applicantions must be submitted in English with a detailed and transparent budget, estimating all costs. Only applications that strictly followed the instructions on our application form will be assesed.
