The exhibition presented a selection of over 30 of the most interesting castles and chateaus of Bohemia and Moravia, two of the historic areas that make up the Czech state. The criterion of the selection of the localities has been the historical significance, as well as the architectural, artistic and historical value. The exhibition which was brought to Malaysia at the initiative of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kuala Lumpur is the first bilateral cultural event in which the National Museum of Malaysia participates.

The ceremonial opening of the exhibition was attended by over 100 guests, among them were directors of major Malaysian cultural institutions, representatives of the Malaysian government, especially from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in Malaysia, the management of Malaysian universities, representatives of the diplomatic corps and members of arts and business circles.
