“I summoned the Russian Ambassador because of flagrant violations of international law and illegal annexation of the Ukrainian territory. We made it very clear, that the criminal aggression and the rude theft of territory will not be tolerated,” said Minister Lipavský. 

The Czech Republic - via Deputy Minister for Europe Jaroslav Kurfürst - communicated to the Russian ambassador that it condemns the illegal annexation of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, does not recognise its validity and will not recognise it in the future. These regions are an integral part of Ukraine and are illegally occupied by Russian troops.

Jaroslav Kurfürst stressed full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within internationally recognised borders. He also condemned the actions of the Russian Federation, in particular the announcement of mobilisation and the threat to use weapons of mass destruction, which are escalating the already highly tense security situation in Europe. This situation has been caused by Russia by its unjustified military aggression against Ukraine. The Deputy Minister strongly urged the Russian Federation to put an immediate end to the war and withdraw its troops from all of Ukrainian territory.
