During the Advent time, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubljana followed the tradition from previous years and organized concerts of sacred and Christmas music. This year, the performance was held by the Mendík mixed choir led by Ms. Olga Thámová since 2012. The choir consists of the students of the high school of J.V. Jirsík in České Budějovice. The Czech and foreign songs with Chrismas theme were on the programme of both one-hour concerts. The songs that were sung by the choir for Slovenian audience were e.g. traditional Czech carol called Chtíc, aby spal (also known as Christmas night) by Adam Michna z Otradovic, Christmas songs by Jan Campan Vodňanský or songs from the medieval Jistebnice hymn-book. The Christmas compositions of foreign composers were added into the varied programme.

Both programmes were introduced by H.E. Mrs. Věra Zemanová, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Slovenia. In her short speech she thanked all coorganizers of the concerts for the cooperation and also wished Merry Christmas and Happy  New Year to the audience. Mr. Miha Ješe, the Mayor of the city of Škofja Loka thanked  the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubljana for the organization of this cultural event.

The first concert organized by the Embassy was held in the Church of St. John the Baptist in Ljublajna  with the support and under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Ljubljana and was attended by residents of Ljubljana -Trnovo district,  Czech compatriots, guests from the diplomatic corps including the  Apostolic Nuncio H.E. Mr. Juliusz Janusz. About seventy spectators participated at the second concert that was held in the cooperation with the Municipal Authority of the city of Škofja Loka in the community center of Sokolski dom in Škofja Loka.  Both concerts were given a big round of applause.
