PM Andrej Babiš at EU-WB Summit 2021

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš participated at the EU-Western Balkans Summit organized by the Slovenian EU Presidency in Brdo pri Kranju. Mutual relations, development of regional cooperation and economic recovery after Covid-19 pandemic were among the main topics. The Summit was preceded by an informal working dinner of the European Council.
 

During the dinner on 5 October, the Prime Ministers discussed about role of the EU in the world, strenghtening of the EU strategic autonomy, EU-China relations and EU-US relations in context of positive changes after President Biden administration’s take up. Leaders also talked about the current rise of energy prices within Europe.

EU-Western Balkans Summit followed on October 6, chaired by the Slovenian PM Janez Janša. EU leaders discussed with PMs of Albania, Bosna and Hercegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, and Kosovo about the mutual relationships, confirmation of their European perspective, intensification of regional cooperation and economy recovery of the region after the pandemic.

The Summit was concluded by a joint declaration of EU and WB leaders confirming the common goal of the region’s integration to the EU.
