Reception to Commemorate Czech National Day, Exhibition of UNESCO Sights in the Czech Republic

On October 20, 2016, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubjana held  reception to commemorate the foundation of the independent Czechoslovak Republic.
 

The reception that was held in the White hall of the Union hotel in the center of Ljubljana was accompanied with th exhibition of UNESCO sights in the Czech Republic. The exhibition consists of 13 separate panels together with large scale video projection. It shows all the palces in the Czech Republic that are included in the list of the World cultural heritage.

During the reception, the Ambassador of the Czech Repubulic to Slovenia, H.E. Mrs. Věra Zemanová gave a speech in which she summarized the latest dynamic development of Czech – Slovenian relations. In the preceding year, the development was characterized by a number of contacts by high-ranking officials of both countries including the state visit of the President of Slovenia, H. E. Mr. Borut Pahor to the Czech Republic in February 2016. During the Czech presidency in the V4 group, a close cooperation of the V4 and Slovenia took place in the fields of mutual interest including the cooperation in the field of migration crises. In the speech, the Ambassador, Mrs. Zemanová also emphasized the development of mutual Czech - Slovenain relations in culture, education and tourism. At the end, she thanked all the sponsors for their support that  is given to the Embassy.

About 200 guests from the diplomatic corps of Ljubljana, representatives of Slovenian central authorities, parliament, academic and cultural life as well as Czech compatriots participated at the celebration of Czech national day.
