The Ambassador Věra Zemanová and the director of ITF signed the Memorandum of understanding

On December 12, 2018, the Ambassador Věra Zemanová, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the director of the international trust fund ITF Enhancing Human Security Tomaž Lovrenčič signed a memorandum of understanding on the basis of which the Czech Republic will provide 250 000 CZK to support the mine clearance in Bosna and Hercegovina.

Since the establishment in 1998 the Czech Republic has financially contributed to the projects focused on mine clearance in Bosna and Hercegovina. The landmines inflict a number of casualties and have a harmful impact on the economy of Bosna and Hercegovina. Furthermore, the mine-clearance process is complicated and costly. The ITF with the support of the Czech Republic will clear the territory of mines and other explosives. The Ambassador Věra Zemanová emphasised that the project enhances the political and economic stability in the region of Western Balkan, which is a long-term priority of the Czech foreign policy.
