Deputy Ambassador Jan Beneš opened the Cycle of Czech and Slovak Film in Ljubljana

On February 4, 2020, Deputy Ambassador Jan Beneš opened the Cycle of Czech and Slovak Film in the Slavonic Library in Ljubljana. During the first screening viewers watched the Czech comedy “Dinner for Adele” (directed by Oldřich Lipský, 1977) with great interest.
 

The Cycle of Czech and Slovak film takes place in cooperation with the Slavonic Library in Ljubljana, the Department of Slavistics Studies of Faculty of Arts of University of Ljubljana and with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubljana. Deputy Ambassador Jan Beneš opened the cycle; the introductory speech on the film was given by Jana Šnytová from the Department of Slavistics Studies of Faculty of Arts of University of Ljubljana. The Slovenian audience, especially for its unmistakable humour, very warmly received dinner for Adele.

The cycle will continue on April 7, 2020 with the screening of the film “Pacho, Hybian Outlaw” (directed by Martin Ťapák, 1975).

The Cycle of Czech and Slovak Film follows the Cycle of Czech Film, which took place in Ljubljana last year with the subtitle "Literature in Film".
