Invitation for children to participate in the 49th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Art Lidice 2021

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubljana informs that the Lidice Memorial invites the participants to join the International Children's Art Exhibition Lidice. The exhibition through art, photography, audio-visual and other works by children from various countries, commemorates the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice, murdered by German Nazis in 1942, as well as other children who had died in wars.

This exhibition has earned a reputation of being one of the largest and oldest events in children's art creation and has become well known among children and teachers not only in the Czech Republic but also literally all over the world.

Every year a new theme is announced and follows UNESCO recommendations. A recommendation concerning ethical principles of artificial intelligence will be one of the topics of the UNESCO General Conference in 2021 since this year marks the 100th anniversary of science fiction drama R. U. R. written by the Czech writer Karel Čapek. R. U. R. stands for Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti (Rossum's Universal Robots) and his drama introduced and made popular the frequently used international word robot.

Following that topic the 49th International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice features the following theme: ROBOT and artificial intelligence

The closing date for the 49th edition is 19 February 2021.

All information about the new edition of the competition including a detailed time schedule can be found on the website of Lidice Memorial.

We cordially invite Slovenian children to participate!
