Invitation to the Conference and Exhibition on J. A. Comenius

On 3rd October 2022 at 10:00 in the Main Hall of the Municipality of Nova Gorica will be held the Conference on J. A. Comenius and solemnly opened the exhibition The Legacy of J. A. Comenius to the World, presenting the story and work of one of the greatest Czech philosophers and thinkers - Johannes Amos Comenius. The exhibition furthermore enlights the ideas and concepts that J. A. Comenius brought to the world and which remain topical even today.

Johannes Amos Comenius is a prominent philosopher, who put up inspiring thoughts and theories in the field of pedagogy, lifelong education, humanism, moral philosophy, religion and politics. His teaching on pansophism, bringing together the humanist ideals, tolerance and the systematic knowledge influenced generations of scholars and thinkers.

The Conference will include the short presentations of the Slovenian academic experts Zdenko Medveš and Tadej Vidmar as well as speeches of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic H. E. Juraj Chmiel and other Ambassadors of the countries, where Komenský lived and worked. 

After the conference, the Exhibition will be opened.

The event is a joint project of the Embassy of the Czech Republic and the Municipality of Nova Gorica. The author of the Exhibition is Mrs. Markéta Pánková, Director of the National Pedagogic Museum and the Library of J. A. Comenius in Prague.

The exhibition will be on display until 26th October 2022.
