The Opening of the Exhibition “The Emperor on Four Thrones – The Life Path of Charles IV”

The exhibition that is organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic and the University of Nova Gorica shows the life and work of one of the most important emperors of the late Middle Ages on fourteen colour panels.

On March 20, 2018, the Czech Ambassador to Slovenia Vera Zemanova and the Chancellor of Nova Gorica University, Danilo Zavratnik, has opened an exhibition marking the 700th anniversary of birth of Charles IV at Lanthieri mansion in Vipava Tuesday afternoon. The curators of the travelling exhibition that was shown not only in Prague but also in other European cities, such as Strasbourg, Munich, Mainz, Milan, Russian Nizhny Novgorod, the Slovakian town of Piešťany and elsewhere, are historians from the Charles University and from Prague’s National Gallery.

The vernissage was attended by approximately 50 guests, including representatives of the diplomatic corps, academic community, students and residents of Vipava and its surroundings. The exhibition in the Baroque Chateau, which is frequently visited by tourists, can be seen from March 20, 2018 to April 13, 2018.
