We support Czech athletes at the FIS Snowboard Alpine World Championships in Slovenia

The Czech Embassy in Ljubljana is keeping fingers crossed for the Czech national team, which will take part in the FIS Snowboard Alpine World Championships in Rogla, Slovenia from 1-2 March. We are looking forward to the Czech performances and we wish them a lot of success. We are sorry that, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot support Czech athletes in person.

Ester Ledecká, a top snowboarder and alpine skier already won the parallel giant slalom in Rogla five times. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, she won gold medals in the super-G in alpine skiing, and in the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding, becoming the first woman to win two gold medals at the same Winter Olympics in two separate disciplines. She is also the first Czech alpine skier to win Olympic gold and the first Olympian in history to start in both snowboarding and alpine skiing disciplines. Ester has won many awards for her outstanding performances.
