160th anniversary of the death of the Czech inventor Josef Ressel

Commemorative event were held in the city of Ljubljana on 17th October 2017 to honour the Czech inventor Josef Ressel on the 160th anniversary of his death. The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovenia, Mrs. Věra Zemanová, restored the honour of Mr. Ressel and placed flowers on his grave at the Navje cemetary.
 

The inventor of a proppeler Josef Ressel died during his working visit to Ljubljana on 9th of October 1857. The act of piety was organised by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in cooperation with a non government society Ressel which comes from the homeland of the inventor.  The city municipality of Ljubljana also joined the commemorative act by sending flowers at the grave of Mr. Ressel.
