Invitation to the Cycle of Czech and Slovak Film in Ljubljana

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubljana invites the public to the “Cycle of Czech and Slovak Films” which will present Czech and Slovak comedies during 2020.

The screening takes place in cooperation with the Slavonic Library in Ljubljana, the Department of Slavistics Studies of University of Ljubljana Faculty of Arts and Pólica Dubova Cultural and Artistic Association.

The screening of the first film “Adele’s Dinner” (directed by Oldřich Lipský, 1977) is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 7 pm in the premises of the Slavonic Library (Einspielerjeva 1, Ljubljana). The film will be screen in Czech language with Slovenian subtitles.

The screening of other films will take place at these dates:

"Pacho, the Thief of Hybe" (directed by Martin Ťapák, 1975) on April 7, 2020

“The Snowdrop Festival“(directed by Jiří Menzel, 1983) on October 6, 2020

Selection of four contemporary Slovak short films on November 3, 2020:

“Honorary Citizen” (directed by J. Herz, 2014), Second Chance (directed by P.Kerekes, 2014), Rules of the game (directed by O. Rudavský, 2014) and Last days of Ludovit Stur (directed by Czaba Molnár 2011).

Subtitles were made by students of the Department of Slavistics Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.

Admission to all screenings is free of chargé.
