Ambassador of the Czech Republic Juraj Chmiel in his introductory speech greeted the present guests, followed by a presentation of the Tatra travel project around the world 2, during which Petr Holeček, as one of the co-organizers, presented how and why the project was created, reconstruction of the vehicle, financing and planning the route. Webo d.o.o. and Tatra Trucks a.s. also introduced themselves with emphasis on quality and wide production portfolio of Tatra multipurpose vehicles. Franci Petek, Commander of the Slovenian Fire Brigade and Ivan Janez Pavšek, Deputy Chairman of VFD Zagorje, also greeted presented guests. The event was attended by more than 50 guests, including Mayor of Zagorje ob Savi Matjaž Švagan, representatives of DARS, Gorenje, Port of Koper, energy holding Petrol, Zagorje Municipal Enterprise, fire brigades from Velenje, Celje, members of the diplomatic corps. The local TV station made a short video report with the Tatra around the world team.

A specially modified Tatra motorhome has been exhibited in the open air. The visitors have had opportunity of a detailed check-up of the car and its unique technology, which is prepared not only for the daily needs of the crew (cooking, personal hygiene, sleep etc.), but also for extreme conditions and various risks that may occur. The car is a great example of Czech know-how and long-term tradition of Czech engineering. Other Czech manufacturers, such as Kobit THZ etc., also supplied individual parts and equipment in addition to Tatra. As part of the outdoor presentation, guests could also view the Tatra fire truck, which was recently purchased by VFD Zagorje.

The ambassador handed over his book "Hrob bílého muže, aneb Afrika skutečnosti a snů" (The Tomb of the White Man or Reality and Dreams of Africa) to the expedition participants and wished them good luck.

During the event, guests had the opportunity to try selected Czech and Slovenian wines as well as local seafood specialties from Fonda fishing company.
