Participating at this event was another opportunity for the Ambassador to meet and converse with many of the Czech and Slovak citizens living in and around the city and with local political representatives. The Ambassador, in informal conversations, assured compatriots that the Czech government and the Czech Embassy in London is devoting and will continue to devote its maximum attention to their current situation, especially in connection with the decision of the UK to leave the EU.

At the same time, he informed the gathered guests about the expansion of cooperation between the Czech Embassy in London and the city of Birmingham, which will see a “Day of Czech culture in Birmingham” take place on 1 June 2017. The “day” will feature the popular Czech music group Čechomor and a major exhibition of the works of the Prague painter Pavel Brázda at the iconic Library of Birmingham among other events.

The evening was not only marked by good music but also by humour and understanding. The Ambassador and his wife would like to thank the Czech and Slovak Club for organising the ball in Birmingham, which was a wonderful experience, they deserve great praise.
