Summer School of Slavonic Studies 2017 – Government Scholarship offer

Information about the scholarship courses of Czech language in the Czech Republic. The Czech Embassy´s closing date for applications is 10 March 2017.
 

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic annually offers 20 scholarships to foreign nationals, pursuant to bilateral intergovernmental or departmental agreements concluded with a number of countries.

The Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies offering Czech language courses are organised by several public universities in the Czech Republic.

Study courses in 2017 for applicants from the UK will be organised by the following Czech universities:

-           Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies (Summer School in Poděbrady)
Date of Summer School: 03 July – 28 July 2017

-           University of West Bohemia, Pilsen
Date of Summer School: 10 – 28 July 2017

-           Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, Brno
Date of Summer School: 15 July – 12 August 2017

-           Faculty of Arts of Palacký University, Olomouc
Date of Summer School: 22 July – 20 August 2017

-           Faculty of Arts of Charles University, Prague
Date of Summer School: 28 July - 25 August 2017

-           Faculty of Philosophy of the University of South Bohemia, České Budějovice
Date of Summer School: 21 August 2017 - 08 September 2017

The courses are designed for students, professionals (teachers, translators, interpreters) and academics in the field of Czech Studies and Slavic studies. A broad scope of courses invites all those who are interested in the Czech language, literature, history and culture.

Each scholarship consists of free board and lodging, coverage of course fees and free access to cultural events which are part of the course programme.

To apply please fill out the application form (handwritten or typed), sign with own hand, print and send together with your CV in Czech or English to the following address by 10 March 2017 at the latest:

The successful applicants will be notified directly by the individual institutions they applied for. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London can accept only printed and signed applications. Any scholarship applications sent directly to the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport or to the institution providing Summer School courses by the individual applicants will not be processed.

Please note that the Summer School courses are open also to foreign nationals who do not hold or cannot apply for the aforementioned scholarships and wish to bear the related expenses themselves. Applications are to be filed directly with the selected institution in this case.
