In 2018 there will be nationwide celebrations in the Czech Republic to mark the centenary of the founding of Czechoslovakia and the 50^th anniversary of the events of the Prague Spring. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London has prepared an ambitious three year plan to showcase the best of the Czech Republic, past and present, to the public in the United Kingdom. ‘Czech Republic 100’ has already started with a number of events and will culminate in 2018 with a so called ‘Czech Week in London’ which should present the achievements made by Czech people in the fields of art, literature and music as well as in medicine, engineering and science. The week will conclude with a magnificent concert by the Czech Philharmonic orchestra in London.

Since the project was conceived in the middle of 2016 a number of events under the title ‘Czech Republic 100’ have already taken place. Therefore we have great pleasure in presenting our plan to the public and hope for its fulfilment not only in London but across the United Kingdom.
