Jan Hamáček, Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, in Sutton Valence School

On Friday 28 April, the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Jan Hamáček, visited the Boarding and Day school in Sutton Valence, Kent.

He had a very special reason to visit the school. Twenty-one years ago, he spent a year studying there. The meeting with the current leadership of the school, the students, as well as the professors who taught him two decades ago, was very cordial and spontaneous.

Jan Hamáček greeted the festive gathering of students and academics in a short speech. With former teachers, he remembered the times he spent with them in Sutton Valence, and with the younger generation, he led debates on importatnt issues of today.

The meeting was organised by the Embassy of the United Kingdom in the Czech Republic and the Czech Embassy in the UK.
