On 8th June 2016 the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Regional Development Agency, the CzechInvest Agency in the UK, the Czech-British Chamber of Commerce and the Czech Embassy in London organised a seminar on investment opportunities in northern Moravia and Silesia.

The event was held at the residence of the Czech Ambassador in London, H.E. Mr Libor Sečka.  The Ambassador welcomed the guests and praised the dynamic development which characterises the Moravian-Silesian region: "This evening is another in a series of similar pro-investment activities that the Embassy has long supported. We are ready to open the doors to British businesses who are seriously interested in operating in the northeastern region of Moravia and Silesia ", he said.

The Regional Council president, Miroslav Novák, opened the investment seminar presentations during which he presented in detail all the fundamental aspects of the region important for foreign investors. He pointed out to the investors: "I do not do marketing. Everything I'm talking about is fact, as you can see from the list of global companies already successfully operating in our region." Mr Novák went onto name more than two dozen major investors already operating there.

After Mr Novák’s introduction there was a presentation by CzechInvest focusing on the many benefits of this region and the role the Agency can play in supporting foreign investors in the Czech Republic. The seminar was concluded with a panel discussion which included representatives of investors who are already present in the region. The evening was rounded off with a garden party in the lovely summer sunshine hosted jointly by the Ambassador, the Moravian-Silesian Regional Council and the Czech-British Chamber of Commerce. Both events were attended by over 80 participants who took the opportunity to network and make new friends. During the social gathering many of the potential investors took the opportunity to have their questions answered by the representatives who had travelled from Ostrava.
