The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London in collaboration with the London office of CzechInvest and the embassies of Hungary, Poland and Slovakia is organising  the 5^th annual matchmaking event  Central European Start-ups Day 2019. The event will provide an opportunity for 20 ICT start-ups from the CEE region to introduce themselves to investors, banks and corporate clients from the UK. The event will take place on the 1^st of October 2019 at the London headquarters of PWC. On the 30^th of October, there will be a networking reception with London based ICT experts and investors. Central European Start-ups Day is one of the economic diplomacy projects of the Czech Republic. The selection of the Czech start-ups is undertaken by the Prague Startup Centre.

Research done by the venture fund ALMAZ CAPITAL ranked all V4 countries in the top 10 when it comes to engineering talent. The research also shows that the "start-up ecosystem maturity" within the V4 countries has become highly-developed. The success of companies such as Cred0 (Czech Republic), ESET (Slovakia), and Prezi (Hungary) have put the whole of the V4 region on the map for investors from all around the world. This is supported by private equity investment in CEE that reached €3.5 Billion in 2017.
