Czech start-ups demonstrated their technologies and innovation in London

Five ambitious technology start-ups from the Czech Republic with innovative products presented to UK investors and corporate clients at the fourth annual edition of the Central European Start Ups Day 2018 in London. London is one of the major global financial and IT centres and Czech companies have a chance to be active in this European centre thanks to the activities of the Czech Embassy’s Economic Diplomacy Agenda several times a year.

On 27 September, the Central European Start Ups Day 2018, a presentation of dynamic start-up companies from Central Europe to investors and potential business partners, took place at the PWC consultancy company premises. The fourth year of the event has confirmed the growing interest of British partners in this high profile event, which got its own website and interactive application this year. The event was organised as part of the Czech diplomacy projects in London, in cooperation with the London office of CzechInvest and the Slovak, Polish and Hungarian Embassies in London. In total 17 companies presented their innovative products and technologies to British and international investors as well as to corporate representatives. A networking lunch followed the presentations.

Five Czech companies took part with the first to present being FeedYou who introduced its special chats in the area of human resources. The Start-up Expando demonstrated how they can help e-shops and manufacturers more effectively sell on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and eBay. Developers from VRgineers introduced their virtual reality headset, which represents world-class high-quality display and is used by leading designers. Yieldigo is a SaaS service that helps retail chains manage rack prices for merchandise using advanced mathematics. SureVPN demonstrated its intelligent box for securing remote access to a home network with closed firewall ports.

The event ended with a keynote speech by Levente Juhasz from Google's global company who presented the reasons why this global technology giant has a number of developers in the CEE region and summed up where Google sees the innovative potential of start-ups in Central Europe. He also mentioned that almost twenty years ago, Google was founded by two young developers and encouraged the participants in their efforts to implement innovative solutions.
