Visa and Consular Section

The Visa and Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London has an appointment system. 
 
THE OPERATIONS OF THE CONSULAR SECTION OF THE EMBASSY OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC IN LONDON ARE CURRENTLY SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED DUE TO THE SITUATION CAUSED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. ATTENDANCE IN PERSON IS ALLOWED BY EMAIL APPOINTMENT ONLY AND UNDER THE CONDITIONS THAT HEALTH MEASURES ARE ADHERED TO. Public health measures in place during in-person attendance

In the publicly accessible room, no more than two adults can be present at the same time. Unfortunately, the room is not suited to be used as a waiting room at this time. Families are recommended to attend in a way that reduces numbers of family members to the necessary minimum.

There is a requirement to use protective covers of mouth and nose (face mask or at least scarf) for all persons aged 2 and older. It is not allowed to enter the building without a face covering. Upon entry into the building, body temperature will be checked for all persons seeking entry. If you have a fever or elevated temperature please postpone your appointment.

Room disinfection is carried out regularly before the first scheduled appointment. The counter table with the equipment is cleaned and disinfected after the end of each appointment. Hand sanitizer is provided in the room.

 

 

 VISA SERVICES

 

I. DO I NEED A VISA OR NOT?

As border policies are constantly evolving, we recommend checking your visa status before travelling to avoid disappointed. The information listed contains visa requirements and exemptions for ordinary national passport and United Kingdom Travel documents. Holders of other types of passport or travel document should enquire directly with the visa section about their status.

II. SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION FOR SCHENGEN VISA OR OTHER SHORT-TERM VISA 

 Applications for Schengen visas can be made any time from 6 months but no later than 15 days before your planned travel date. Due to the high demand for Schengen visas it is suggested the appointment is made at least 45 days in advance of your intended date of travel.


BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT

Appointments for visas for purpose of Tourism, Business, Visiting family or friends, Medical treatment, Conferences, Cultural/Sports, Study or professional training have to be arranged via Czech Visa Application Centre operated by VF Services (UK) Limited in London.

Appointments for visas for purpose of Employment, Research, Official government visit, Transit or Airport transit please contact the Visa section of Embassy of the Czech Republic in London directly by email.

 

 

SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATIONS FOR QUALIFYING  FAMILY MEMBERS OF EU NATIONALS AND MEMBERS OF DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS IN THE UK

Qualifying family members of EU nationals may lodge their Schengen visa applications directly at the Embassy on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 to 10:00, however, prior appointment needs to be arranged. 

Members of Diplomatic Missions in the United Kingdom may lodge their Schengen visa applications directly at the Embassy on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 to 10:00, however, prior appointment needs to be arranged.

To schedule an appointment to lodge their Schengen visa applications, qualifying family members of EU nationals as well as members of Diplomatic Missions in the United Kingdom need to send an email to visa.london@embassy.mzv.cz. Without prior request by email and subsequent confirmation by a visa officer, attendance at the office will not be possible.

In your email please always include your full name, date of birth, information about which passport you hold and a date of intended travel to the Czech Republic. Please note that visa application can be submitted up to 6 months prior to the date of departure and that applicants should allow 15 days for the processing of their applications.

When attending please be on time for your appointment, so health measures can be adhered to. Late arrival can mean a significant delay to the appointment. When attending, please bring already filled out forms for the application that you will be submitting. Filling out forms at the embassy will cause disturbance and delays to the appointments and will cause obstacles for health measures in place.

III. SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION FOR LONG-TERM VISA OR RESIDENCE PERMIT 


BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT

Appointments for all long-term visa applications have to be arranged directly with Visa section of Embassy of the Czech Republic in London directly by email only. When wishing to arrange an appointment please include your full name, country that issued your passport your passport number, type of residence permit (unless exemption applies) and type of visa or permit you wish to apply for.

CONSULAR SERVICES

The consular section provides variety of services to the members of public as intermediary between governmental offices in the Czech Republic and the applicant. Services provided include citizenship certificates, CzechPoint services, passport services and registrar services. 

BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT
Appointments for majority of consular services have to be arranged directly with Consular section of Embassy of the Czech Republic in London directly. When wishing to arrange an appointment over email, please include full name and date of birth of person for whom the appointment intended for and service required.

WALK-IN SERVICES

On Tuesdays between 9:00 and 12:00 members of public can come directly to the Embassy without prior appointment to have their signatures and documents legalized before our office. Please note there is limit of 2 signature legalizations per person for more legalization an appointment is required.

On Thursdays between 9:00 and 12:00 members of public can lodge their applications for ‘Extract from Crimes register of the Czech Republic’ directly at the Embassy without prior appointment.
