Around 8,000 guests attended the ceremony and it was only the second event of its kind since 2019, the first of which took place 7 days earlier on May 11. Although similar events belong to the traditional program of the Palace, they have been canceled in the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. The traditional host in the form of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. was substituted by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Edward with wife Sophia, Earl and Countess of Wessex.
