Annual British Czech and Slovak Association Dinner

On 17 November 2017, the British Czech and Slovak Association (BCSA) held its Annual dinner attended by the Czech Ambassador, H.E. Libor Sečka.

The BCSA organised its Annual Dinner at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in Fitzrovia. The event, which was attended by approximately 100 guests, including the Czech Ambassador Libor Sečka with his wife Sabrina and the Slovak Ambassador with his spouse brought together members of the Czech and Slovak émigré community as well as British friends of both countries.

The dinner was started with a speech by the BCSA Chairman, Ladislav Horňan, welcoming everyone. The keynote speaker was the Czech Ambassador, H.E. Libor Sečka, who reminded the guests about the important significance of the events that happened in November 1989. He then presented the plans of the Embassy of the Czech Republic for the next year when we celebrate many important anniversaries, including the founding of Czechoslovakia and the Prague Spring, and invited the expatriate community to work with the Embassy on some of our events, some of which will be organised together with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic.

After a delicious dinner, there was a raffle with beautiful prizes, including several stays in luxury hotels in Czechia and Slovakia and a remoska (electric mini-oven of Czech origin) provided by Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines.

The Czech Embassy would like to thank the BCSA for its kind invitation to the dinner where the participants had an opportunity to spend a pleasant evening with their fellow country folk, to establish new business and personal contacts and to discuss joint plans for the future.
