Celebrations of 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II at the British throne

Millions of Britons celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee last weekend in London with four days of official and community events.

The Czech Embassy joined in the celebrations in honour of Her Majesty The Queen in a variety of ways. Ambassador Chatardova used the opportunity of the Queen's Green Canopy initiative to plant a Linden Tree to mark Her Majesty´s Platinum Jubilee and during the celebrations attended both the Trooping of the Colour military parade and the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral.

President of the Czech Republic, HE Miloš Zeman, has send a letter of congratulations and a gift to He Majesty The Queen. The gift, a piece from the Splendid Collection of the famous Czech Glassworks, Moser, is from the same collection as a drinkware set given as a wedding present in 1947 by the then President of the Czechoslovak Republic, Edvard Beneš, to the English Princess and future Queen Elizabeth II.
