Ceremony of tapestry dedication to the RAF Church

On 20 June 2018, the Czech Defence Attaché Colonel Jiří Niedoba attended the ceremony of tapestry dedication to the RAF Church at St Clement Danes by Mr. Stan Havrlík and his family.

Mr. Havrlík is a descendat of Baťa factory´s representative to the UK during the Second World War. In that time, his mother embroided 1,8 x 0,9 meters large tapesry of the Last Supper which was displayed in their home and admired by many Czech airmen visiting their family during the war times.

This sentimental connection, as well as the fact that the Royal Air Force St Clement Danes Church in the Strand did not have a memorial to the Czech airmen unlike other nationalities, has been the reason to dedicate the tapestry to this venue.
