Czech Philharmonic premiered new symphony Prague Panoramas by British composer Anderson

On Wednesday 20th April, Czech Philharmonic with its conductor Semyon Bychkov performed the Czech premiere of new symphony Prague Panoramas by British composer Julian Anderson.

Julian Anderson belongs among the leading personalities of British contemporary music, he has held Composer in Residence positions with the City of Birmingham Symphony, Cleveland and London Philharmonic orchestras. Renowned as also as teacher, Anderson has held senior professorships at the Royal College of Music, London and at Harvard University, and is currently Professor of Composition and Composer in Residence at Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

The Symphony was inspired by a photography book by famous Czech photographer Josef Sudek called Prague Panoramas from 1959, but also by the works of other classical Czech authors, or even by videos of Czech Youtuber Janek Rubes (Honest Guide).
