Europe Day 2017

On 9 May 2017, the representative of the Czech Embassy in London, Mr. Aleš Opatrný, together with representatives of 19 other EU member states, guests from the European Commission and the European Parliament, attended celebrations of Europe Day in Edinburgh, Scotland.

During the event, the Czech Republic was presented as an interesting country in terms of tourism, culture, education and business and investment cooperation, by its own stand located in the historical center of the city. The celebrations were opened by Fiona Hyslop, Minister of Culture, Tourism and External Relations of the Scottish Government and subsequently, the Ambassador of Latvia in London, Mrs Baiba Braže gave a welcome speech. The Czech representative, Head of the trade and economic section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London, Mr.  Aleš Opatrný, briefly greeted the guests and then, together with the Czech Honorary Consul in Edinburgh, Mr. Paul Millar, was answering the visitors' questions about the Czech Republic.
