The conference brought together several dozen ministers, representatives of governments and parliaments, and several hundred representatives of NGOs, churches and religious groups from 100 countries to discuss various aspects of freedom of religion and the practical steps to be taken to promote it.

The Czech Republic was represented by the Special Envoy for Holocaust, Interfaith Dialogue and Freedom of Religion or Belief, Robert Řehák, who spoke in the final panel of the conference and also took a role of a moderator in the panel on education.
