National Order of the Legion of Honour for Brigadier General Miroslav Liškutín

We are pleased to inform that Brigadier General Miroslav Liškutín Ret., the Czechoslovak war veteran, was appointed to the rank of Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour (“Ordre national de la Légion d´honneur”) by the President of the French Republic.

This highest distinction was granted to Brigadier General Liškutín by a decree of 22 May 2018 (PNG, 911 KB) for his merits in the Liberation of France during the Second World War.

The campaign to award the National Order of the Legion of Honour to Brigadier General Liškutín was an initiative and long-lasting endeavour of the previous Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London, Col. Jiří Svatoš.

Due to the sad fact that Brigadier General Liškutín passed away at the age of 98 on 19 February 2018, we cordially congratulate his family.
