Never Forgotten: Letter from Secretary of State Dominic Raab

On Monday, 14 December 2020, Ambassador Libor Sečka received a letter from the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Dominic Raab. In the letter, D. Raab expressed his support for our "Never Forgotten" project and highly praised the role of Czechoslovak soldiers in defending the United Kingdom and freedom in Europe and the world and its impact on our relations, and recalled his family ties with Pilsen and Karlovy Vary.

Although Minister Raab could not personally attend the ceremony at one of the British cemeteries where our soldiers are buried, we are very pleased that the project attracted representatives of the British government and both chambers of the British Parliament, among many other actors. Among others, the British Minister of Foreign Trade Greg Hands, a member of the House of Lords Daniel Finkelstein, a member of the Sir David Amess and a representative of the City of London Karina Dostálová took part in it.

With the kind permission of his office, we are publishing the letter from Minister D. Raab below.

The Never Forgotten project will continue in 2021, more information about this initiative can be found here: https://www.mzv.cz/london/en/culture_and_education/project_never_forgotten/index.html
