President Pavel visited London on the occasion of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

On May 5-6, on the occasion of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, President Petr Pavel and Frist Lady Eva, visited London.

President Pavel paid a visit his London alma mater, the Royal College of Defense Studies, where he delivered a lecture in front of an auditorium filled with professors and current and former students of the university. He also visited the Porchester Gate building on Bayswater Road, which housed Czechoslovak military intelligence in exile during the Second World War and where Operation Anthropoid was planned.

The President and the First Lady also attended a reception for the participants of the Embassy's "Children of Heroes" project, i.e. descendants of Czechoslovak soldiers from the Second World War" who fought against Nazi Germany in the United Kingdom, and in an informal setting of the Czechoslovak restaurant Bohemia House met with Czech expatriots and students studying in Britain.

In connection with the coronation, the presidential couple attended a reception in the Buckingham palace, where the presidential couple had the opportunity to talk with His Majesty King Charles III, the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Edward and also a number of foreign statesmen, on Saturday morning they then attended the coronation itself, traditionally held in the Westminster Abbey. Before leaving the United Kingdom, they also paid respect to Czechoslovak World War II soldiers at the military cemetery in Brookwood.
