Results of the 1st round of Czech presidential election in the United Kingdom

A total of 1,475 voters participated in the first round of the 2023 presidential election at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London, casting 1,474 valid votes. In terms of the number of valid votes, the election fell short of the first round of the 2018 presidential election with 1,619 votes, but ahead of the first round of the 2013 presidential election, in which voters in London cast 523 valid votes.

With 1,474 votes cast, the Embassy in London again became the most frequented polling station abroad, ahead of Brussels with 1,267 votes and Bern with 895 votes. Voter turnout at the Embassy was 72.98% registered voters.

Candidate Petr Pavel received the most votes at the embassy in London - 771 votes and 52.30%, followed by Danuše Nerudová with 551 votes and 34.66%, Pavel Fischer with 90 votes and 6.10%, Marek Hilšer with 47 votes and 3, 18%, Andrej Babiš with 30 votes and 2.03%, Jaroslav Bašta with 14 votes and 0.94%, Karel Diviš with 7 votes and 0.47% and Tomáš Zima with 4 votes and 0.27%.

 

London

In 2023, voters could also cast their votes in the presidential election at the Consulate General in Manchester for the first time. A total of 160 voters out of 227 registered voters cast their votes in Manchester, casting 160 valid votes. Voter turnout was 70.48 %.

Candidate Petr Pavel received the most votes - 73 votes and 45.62%, followed by Danuše Nerudová with 66 votes and 41.25%, Pavel Fischer with 10 votes and 6.25%, Marek Hilšer with 4 votes and 2.5%, Jaroslav Bašta with 3 votes and 1.87% and Andrej Babiš and Karel Diviš with 2 votes and 1.25%. Candidate Tomáš Zima - did not receive any vote in Manchester.

 

Manchester

 

A total of 1,635 out of 2,248 registered voters, of which 1,634 valid votes, cast their vote in the first round of the presidential election at both representative offices of the Czech Republic in the United Kingdom. Voter turnout was 72.73%.

The candidate Petr Pavel received the most votes at representative offices in the United Kingdom - 844 votes and 51.65%, followed by Danuše Nerudová with 577 votes and 35.31%, Pavel Fischer with 100 votes and 6.11%, Marek Hilšer with 51 votes and 3.12%, Andrej Babiš with 32 votes and 1.95%, Jaroslav Bašta with 17 votes and 1.04%, Karel Diviš with 9 votes and 0.55% and Tomáš Zima with 4 votes and 0.24%.

 

UK

 

With 1,434 valid votes, voters in the United Kingdom cast the second highest number of votes overall of any country abroad, behind Germany with 1,888 valid votes and ahead of Belgium with 1,267 votes, Slovakia with 906 votes and Switzerland with 895 votes.
