The bust of President Masaryk unveiled at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies

On the occasion of the Centenary of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at the University College London there was the bust of the first President of Czechoslovakia Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk unveiled.

The bust of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk was unveiled by UCL President and Provost Professor Michael Arthur, H.E. Ľubomír Rehák, Ambassador of Slovakia and Ms. Jana Brázdová, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

The bust was unveiled on 19th October 2015, exactly one hundred years after the politician, philosopher and sociologist  Tomáš G. Masaryk gave a public lecture in London on “The problem of small nations in the European Crisis”, which is an event that marked the foundation of the future SSEES. The current director of the School is Professor Jan Kubik.
