It is with sincere sadness that we announce that the last Czechoslovak RAF airman living in the UK, Mr. Jiří Roden (Rosenstein), passed away in May 2022.
This sad information reached us with a delay in the last days. He was born in 1923 in Moravská Ostrava. He arrived to the UK on the last Child transport (August 1939) and during the war joined the RAF, serving in 312 Squadron. After the war he returned briefly to Czechoslovakia but eventually settled in London. Tribute to his memory.
