The war veteran Col. Arnošt Polák Ret. passed away

The Czech Embassy in London regrets to announce with deep sadness that on 27 September 2017 Colonel Arnošt Polák Ret. died at the age of 94.

Colonel Polák served at the 311th Bomber Squadron of the British Royal Air Force as a gunner and radio operator during WWII. He was awarded many awards, including this year in June, when the President of the Czech Republic, Miloš Zeman, awarded him the Medal for Bravery.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London would like to express to Col. Polák´s family its sincere and deep sympathy.

The last farewell to the deceased takes place on 18 October 2017 at 2:45 pm in the Rendals Park crematorium, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 0AG.
