Top-class Czech-British medical cooperation with Embassy involvement

Today, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London assisted with the transport of eight-month-old Kristián and his mother from Motol University Hospital in Prague to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London (GOSH). Kristián has suffered from a rare genetic disease since his birth and needs an acute thymus transplant. GOSH is the only specialised hospital in Europe that is able to perform such a demanding and specifically focused operation.

The Embassy, in collaboration with both hospitals, arranged for Kristián and his mother to be transported from Heathrow Airport to central London. Based on the request from Motol Hospital the Embassy team, led by Ambassador Libor Sečka, assisted Kristián and his mother to ensure contactless and safe passage through the airport to the hospital due to Kristián´s reduced immunity.

We keep Kristián in our hearts and prayers and wish the hospital team good luck that the transplant is a great success!
